    Description

    Vehicle Details
1988 GMC Jimmy (Blazer) K5, 350 TBI, 700r4 Auto, 4X4, 2.79 geared MPG machine! =) Unfinished Restoration project that needs some one with the skill and motivation to finish it. Here is your chance to have this K5 for a fraction of the potential value. Recent Death in the family prompts sale. The Loss of my beloved Mom, has caused me to re-evaluate things. Time for the unfinished projects to be gone, so I can get back to fixing the important things, like this house. So, Need & Want to get this K5 gone before October 12th. After that, it might have to wait another couple weeks until I can deal with it again. Mom is no longer here, so my goal of taking her for a ride in this truck will never happen. So, time for my "Betsy" to find a new home, she has been a good girl for me, but, she has sat waiting patiently in the garage, more than not. She needs a another loving owner, who will finish her to her former glory. This truck, is one of the cleanest you will find. We have already done 60%, or better, of the body work for you. This was all done by myself, and One friend, with a combined lifetime of at least 70 years combined experience...you can rest assured, what we did, we did right. The stuff NOT DONE BY ME...i take no credit or ridicule for. =) Why the restoration? you might ask. The truck suffered from previous AMATEUR ownership, and a paint job of equal experience. Apparently, someone in Betsy' past, took her into the woods, got her rockerpanel stuck on a rock or stone...then rocked the truck off of it...and rolled back and damaged the Driver's lower rear quarter too. The body panels are virtually rust free, and there is an EXCELLENT hood included, which also came from a VERY clean 1988 Truck. The fenders have been done, ready for blocking, all primer is three layered, with self etching, sealer, and then heavy epoxy filler primer. The passenger side is ready for color blocking, other than a few tiny dents on that door worth fixing. The driver side needsan experienced body many to finish the rocker and lower door jamb. All the cab squaring points were checked, and measured against a real GM TRUCK BODY SHOP MANUAL...the cab is straight and square to within 1mm. The floor has been corrected, nowthe lower outer rocker, and lower door jamb need to be completed. At least one new outer rocker panel is in the parts pile, but I believe I have TWO included actually. Have an ATTIC FULL of parts that go with the truck, the truck itself is packed full, including an extra door, and the original chrome bumpers. All of the truck is here, it needs someone dedicated to the cause, to finish her back to her former glory, I need to move on with life, have had Betsy for closed to ten years already, time for her to find a new home. =) Also have at least 3500 worth of parts on the living room floor. See pics. Including a barely used set of ZZ4 heads, Edelbrock intake, at least two carbs, new B&M flexplate, BRAND NEW EAGLE CRANK KIT, with 3.48 cast steel crank, steel 5.7 rods, and Trw Pistons already mounted, all internally balanced. The truck has the original 350 TBI block, but it is ready for a rebuild, all stock bore, never been machined. I was going to just hone it to the new pistons, and stay with stock bore. The bores are bone stock at 3.995", neverbeen messed with. =) The heads are partly done, not sure of where I left off, but some bowls are done, some valves polished on the one head, the other one is totally untouched. I do not hog out ports and runners, so you can relax, these heads are done the way Lingenfelter,or Vizard, or Meaux would do them, 90% of the improvement is in the bowl work on these heads, and a good valve job with back cuts on the intake valves. You have all you need here, to build 350hp with the stock engine, just get a better cam. The cam pictured is just an old 305 cam that I included, the better cams were all sold off already. Rest assured, you will have at least 90% of what you need for the engine rebuild with this purchase. The original TBI fuel system is still on the truck. I WAS going to go back to carburetor, but, if you want to stay TBI, and or add aftermarket TBI, then you are all set, all the stock TBI wiring is still in place, andthe engine wiring harness should be in one of the parts boxes...I know...because I saw it when I was taking over a 100+ pictures of the truck, and all the parts. So, if you want to see pictures of truck and parts, hit the ASK SELLER A QUESTION button, and contact me. Will gladly send dozens of pictures, and answer any questions. The truck needs a new home, but it needs someone with the right touch, and the motivation to finish her. You can bring her back to her former glory, as basically the COVER PAGE TRUCK of the 1988 GMC K5 OWNER'S MANUAL>...or...you can build your own Resto-Mod truck? your own Bug-Out truck? OVERLANDER? 4x4? rock-crawler? What ever floats your off road goals for you...so be it. This truck is basically a diamond in the rough, waiting to be finished and polished. Someone is going to GAIN a huge deal on this one. I'm setting the reserve at what is a fraction of the total value here. These trucks now AVERAGING thirtyFIVEgrand...on some of the price tracking websites. Yes, I need to sell it, and get it gone, but I also know what I have. This truck did 24.5mpg the day I bought her, and drove her home about 150miles. This truck was specially optioned with a unique combination of having the 350tbi V8, the 700R4 4x4 heavy duty transmission, with 208? case if I recall, AND....it has 2.79 gearing in the axles. Yes, i said it, 2.79, this truck was MADE for the open road, it loves road trips. She needs to be gone thru end to end, and put back in working order. My goal was to improve on what GM did, and created the first 30mpg K5 Blazer! =)....maybe YOU are the man for that job? or maybe you just want to finish this K5 the way YOU want it? which ever works for you, this is the deal you have been waiting for! =) Contact seller with any questions what so ever, bid with confidence. If my RESERVE IS MET, I will include the first 500 clams towards shipping arrangements. Assuming you want me to help from my end at all. Otherwise, bring a truck and trailer, with plenty of room for the PARTS BOXES...so we don't have to pack the truck like a sardine can. That is how things get broken during transport. National Auto Transport was pretty good for me before, but that was a decade ago. If you want to make all your own shipping arrangements, that is fine. First we handle the payment, CERTIFIED CASHIERS CHECK preferred. Then I will express over-night the title. Then, we can get someone here, and i will help load. Really need a WINCH< and or professional car hauler that can just use the tail gate to load the truck. This K5 does not run, and is being sold for parts, and or to complete as a restoration. This is not a running vehicle, and you will have to HAUL it home. Thanks for stopping to take a look, and have fun bidding~!
