    Description

This is a 66 page book that contains 30 poems by Hafiz of Shiraz, translated by Peter Avery and John Heath-Stubbs, published by John Murray (London), 1952, 1st edition. 5 x 6 3/4 inches in size. Hafiz lived from around 1320 AD to 1389 in Shiraz, Fars province; the authors give his story and some analysis, then presents the poems on topics like love, the mysteries of life, Truth and religion, then a glossary of terms at the end. Part of Murray's "Wisdom of the East" series of works. The dust cover has wear -- book itself has almost no cover edge wear - and some paper aging, otherwise great condition.
