One of the first squadrons was the formation of a women pilot's squadron. First known as WAF and later the WASP. Due to a shortage of military pilots, there were also civilian pilots. This is a HUGE history of the group to include MANY little-known missions such as the "Crescent Caravan" which was a powerful lifeline from the U.S. to India and China, and a P-47 flight by Barry Goldwater.
